Ultrasonic train detector in Stockholm uses a #RaspberryPi

Here’s a neat real-life project. Apologies for the use of the word ‘neat’. Viktor Rene works for Stopp Family. They are a production company that wanted to trigger the playing of a video on a billboard when an underground train pulled into the station. To do this, they hooked up an ultrasonic distance detector to a Pi and wrote a bit of software to do the detection. The Pi then communicates with a Flash app to trigger the video.
