Is there any further use case for the PiZero as the manufacturer insisted this is a one-off prototype?
That is no longer the case. Originally, the Zero was just a ‘see what happens’. Now, they’ve seen how popular it is and are producing more. Not sure how long they will produce them for, or if another model will supercede it, but for now I think it’s fair to say the Zero is here to stay.
