{"id":48,"date":"2012-09-29T10:11:00","date_gmt":"2012-09-29T10:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/178.62.14.192\/?p=48"},"modified":"2012-09-29T10:11:00","modified_gmt":"2012-09-29T10:11:00","slug":"occidentalis-redwing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/?p=48","title":{"rendered":"Occidentalis \/ Redwing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>><\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/learn.adafruit.com\/system\/assets\/assets\/000\/001\/953\/medium800\/occidentalis.png\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/learn.adafruit.com\/system\/assets\/assets\/000\/001\/953\/medium800\/occidentalis.png?resize=156%2C200\" width=\"156\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Well!<br \/>That went well!<br \/><b>My Redwing Pi is now back to usable and is using the <a href=\"http:\/\/learn.adafruit.com\/adafruit-raspberry-pi-educational-linux-distro\/occidentalis-v0-dot-2\">Adafruit Occidentalis v0.2 distro<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a list of what it currently has on it now I&#8217;ve finished with my tweaks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/hexxeh.net\/?p=328117855\">Hexxeh&#8217;s rpi-update<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Up-to-date raspi-config<\/li>\n<li>Memory split to favour core rather than video<\/li>\n<li>Overclocked to 900mhz (not verified that&#8217;s worked yet)<\/li>\n<li>GIT core<\/li>\n<li>Two wifi networks (home and work) with auto-connect at boot<\/li>\n<li>Using the Edimax wifi adapter that is becoming so beloved (the one with the gold usb contact)<\/li>\n<li>Used a script to speed up the boot cycle<\/li>\n<li>Increased the size of the shell history to make documentation easier.<\/li>\n<li>Installed the following:<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>screen (to allow login sessions to be accessed by multiple users)<\/li>\n<li>Apache and PHP (to give you a web server)<\/li>\n<li>Samba (to let you see and use your Pi&#8217;s drive on a Windows network)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.raspcontrol.com\/\">Raspcontrol <\/a>(a web interface to let you see what&#8217;s going on with your Pi without remoting in)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Now backing the image up so I can go to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peteronion.org.uk\/smf\/index.php\">MK Raspberry Jam<\/a> with my &#8216;virgin Pi&#8217; presentation and get back to where I was easily.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img width='1' height='1' src='https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/3715640409195873782-1122614931507619016?l=raspberrypipod.blogspot.com' alt='' \/><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>> Well!That went well!My Redwing Pi is now back to usable and is using the Adafruit Occidentalis v0.2 distro.
