Tim Richardson, Jamie Mann (of The Pi Hut<\/a>) and myself are very proud to announce the official launch of CamJam EduKit number 3<\/strong>. This one is all about Robotics<\/strong> and provides (almost) everything you need to build your own Raspberry Pi-powered motorised buggy. The best news is that everything comes pre-soldered<\/strong> so there is no excuse not to get started! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

The kit, which you can buy from The Pi Hut<\/a>\u00a0for \u00a317 + postage,\u00a0includes the following:<\/div>\n

  • A custom-designed, pre-soldered motor controller board (with screw terminals) designed by Gareth from\u00a04tronix<\/a><\/li>\n
  • Two DC motors (with wires pre-soldered)<\/li>\n
  • Two custom red wheels (which go extra fast\u2026 because they\u2019re red!)<\/li>\n
  • A ball castor (used as the \u2018third wheel\u2019 to your robot)<\/li>\n
  • A small breadboard (to create your circuits)<\/li>\n
  • Two pieces of strong 3M padded double-sided tape<\/li>\n
  • A battery box for 4 AA batteries (batteries not included)<\/li>\n
  • An ultrasonic distance sensor (for detecting objects in front of your robot)<\/li>\n
  • A line follower sensor (for detecting and following black lines)<\/li>\n
  • Resistors and jumper cables with which to complete your circuits<\/li>\n
  • A strong cardboard box to keep it all in\u2026 or to cut into to make your chassis!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    All you need to provide is: a chassis (use your imagination or use the box the kit comes in!), 4 AA batteries and a screwdriver.<\/p>\n

    As always, Tim has worked his socks off to create a series of worksheets<\/a><\/strong> that take you through from first Pi principles to using every component included in the kit. These worksheets are available to download for free\u00a0from the CamJam website<\/a>.<\/p>\n
