Months!) to create the\u00a0new CamJam EduKit. This one is a very special kit and it&#8217;s all about <strong>robotics<\/strong>! It has been designed from the ground up to get you started with building a robot. On Monday, the\u00a0kits arrived at the warehouse!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/boxes.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-13553\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/boxes.jpg?resize=217%2C380&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"boxes\" width=\"217\" height=\"380\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Let me tell you what&#8217;s in the kit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our special Motor Controller Board (created by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.4tronix.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\">4tronix<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>2 red-hubbed wheels (they go faster than normal ones, being red and all)<\/li>\n<li>2 DC motors<\/li>\n<li>A battery box (with an on\/off switch)<\/li>\n<li>A small breadboard<\/li>\n<li>An ultrasonic distance sensor<\/li>\n<li>A line follower sensor<\/li>\n<li>A ball caster (with screws) which acts as a \u2018third wheel\u2019<\/li>\n<li>Jumper wires to connect up the sensors to the motor controller board and breadboard<\/li>\n<li>Some 3M tape pads to stick things onto other things<\/li>\n<li>\u2026 all in a strong cardboard box.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/DSCN1508.png?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13554\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/DSCN1508.png?resize=560%2C560&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"DSCN1508\" width=\"560\" height=\"560\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/DSCN1508.png?w=800&amp;ssl=1 800w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/DSCN1508.png?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/DSCN1508.png?resize=300%2C300&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/DSCN1508.png?resize=560%2C560&amp;ssl=1 560w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/DSCN1508.png?resize=260%2C260&amp;ssl=1 260w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/DSCN1508.png?resize=160%2C160&amp;ssl=1 160w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The only things we haven&#8217;t included are 4 AA batteries (because shipping batteries is the most difficult thing in the world to do!) and a chassis. Why not a chassis? you may ask. Well, we&#8217;d like to see people come up with their own ideas! We&#8217;ve tried several ourselves &#8211; we&#8217;ve used the box the kit comes in (which is very thick cardboard and therefore very sturdy), an official Raspberry Pi case, a spare box we had lying around and we even considered a Domino&#8217;s pizza garlic bread box! The best thing about the kit, we think, is that\u00a0<strong>everything comes pre-soldered<\/strong>. That&#8217;s right &#8211; no soldering required! This makes it particularly suitable for schools and clubs and also for those people who don&#8217;t want to risk burns using a soldering iron.<\/p>\n<p>Tim has been beavering away writing the worksheets for the kit. Due to a family illness, he&#8217;s a little behind where he would want to be but he wants to make sure that the resources are perfect before we launch.<\/p>\n<p>With that in mind, we expect to\u00a0have them on sale at the beginning of November (exact date to be decided soon!). <strong>The price is \u00a317 inc VAT, plus delivery<\/strong>.
