{"id":12777,"date":"2015-06-16T08:17:55","date_gmt":"2015-06-16T07:17:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/?p=12777"},"modified":"2015-06-16T08:17:55","modified_gmt":"2015-06-16T07:17:55","slug":"official-wifi-adapter-and-new-official-case-launched-for-the-raspberry-pi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/?p=12777","title":{"rendered":"Official wifi adapter and new official case launched for the Raspberry Pi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was just browsing around this morning when I discovered that the official Raspberry Pi wifi adapter\u00a0<em>and<\/em> the official Raspberry Pi case have both been launched!<\/p>\n<h2>The case<\/h2>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0188\/6794\/products\/RPI_Foundartion_case_1_of_4_1024x1024.JPG?resize=560%2C560\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"560\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The official case, which was launched in beta form at the Big Birthday weekend, comes in several pieces and is white and red in colour. It&#8217;s a very well-fitting case and has a detachable side panel\u00a0to allow you to access the GPIO pins. The top cover can be left off if needed to allow for the use of a HAT or other add-on board. It&#8217;s a handsome case and at <strong>\u00a36<\/strong> you can&#8217;t go wrong. <a href=\"http:\/\/swag.raspberrypi.org\/collections\/frontpage\/products\/official-raspberry-pi-case\" target=\"_blank\">It&#8217;s available from the Swag store<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>The wifi dongle<\/h2>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0188\/6794\/products\/RPi_wifi_dongle_2_of_2_d646864e-70bf-48ff-8d78-c5085e64d231_1024x1024.jpeg?resize=560%2C560\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"560\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The official wifi dongle is tiny, white and has the Raspberry Pi logo moulded into it. It&#8217;s compatible with\u00a0802.11 b\/g\/n networks and works with Raspbian straight out of the box. It&#8217;s currently sold out <a href=\"http:\/\/swag.raspberrypi.org\/collections\/frontpage\/products\/official-raspberry-pi-wifi-dongle\" target=\"_blank\">on the Swag store<\/a>\u00a0but you can also <a href=\"http:\/\/thepihut.com\/products\/official-raspberry-pi-wifi-adapter\" target=\"_blank\">buy it from The Pi Hut for \u00a36<\/a>, which is the same price as <a href=\"http:\/\/thepihut.com\/products\/usb-wifi-adapter-for-the-raspberry-pi\" target=\"_blank\">The Pi Hut&#8217;s own dongle<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was just browsing around this morning when I discovered that the official Raspberry Pi wifi adapter\u00a0and the official Raspberry Pi case have both been launched!
