{"id":11505,"date":"2014-11-25T07:25:48","date_gmt":"2014-11-25T07:25:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/?p=11505"},"modified":"2014-11-25T07:25:48","modified_gmt":"2014-11-25T07:25:48","slug":"winners-announced-for-new-zealand-raspberry-pi-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/?p=11505","title":{"rendered":"Winners announced for New Zealand Raspberry Pi competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.codeworx.co.nz\/static\/layout\/logo_codeworx.png?resize=300%2C115\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"115\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orionhealth.com\/careers\/graduates\" target=\"_blank\">Orion Health<\/a>, an eHealth company in New Zealand, has announced the winners of their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.codeworx.co.nz\/\" target=\"_blank\">Codework competition<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.codeworx.co.nz\/\" target=\"_blank\">Codeworx<\/a> challenges secondary school students to create a solution, using a Raspberry Pi, to &#8220;a real world problem&#8221; or that &#8220;could be useful in someone&#8217;s everyday life&#8221;. The winners were as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fourteen year old, Dylan Townsend of Mission Heights Junior College, took out the top Individual prize for his project titled \u2018Caution, Child on Driveway\u2019, which alerts drivers to children, pets or other objects in the driveway. He receives $1,250 prize money, and $2,500 worth of digital tech equipment for his school.<\/li>\n<li>The winning team was also from Mission Heights, with their project titled \u2018Eyes Wide Shut\u2019 and uses an ultrasound device to help blind people move about.
