{"id":1123,"date":"2012-12-30T20:06:23","date_gmt":"2012-12-30T20:06:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/178.62.14.192\/?p=1123"},"modified":"2012-12-30T20:06:23","modified_gmt":"2012-12-30T20:06:23","slug":"sweetbox-most-impractical-case-ever","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.recantha.co.uk\/blog\/?p=1123","title":{"rendered":"Sweetbox &#8211; most impractical case ever?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a style=\"text-align: center;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/677951563\/sweetbox-the-perfect-case-for-your-raspberry-pi-co\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/photo-full1.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t normally criticise cases on my blog, but this one caught my eye.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/677951563\/sweetbox-the-perfect-case-for-your-raspberry-pi-co\">Sweetbox _ The perfect case for your Raspberry Pi computer by Grasping hand \u2014 Kickstarter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are so many reasons why this case is a dead-loss:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 13px;\">No access to the GPIO or other pin sets.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>It seems to be custom-designed to use specific heatsinks which, I note, are being offered as part of the case. So, if you&#8217;ve already fitted some sinks this case isn&#8217;t for you.<\/li>\n<li>No ventilation.<\/li>\n<li>Yet again no protection for an SD card [edit] although the micro-SD card adapters will fit, according to the FAQ.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s ergonomic&#8230; which is lovely for keyboards but is of no practical use for a Pi.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s a snug fit which, given the micro differences between various revisions, is unlikely to fit every Pi.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s \u00a315 for the case and heat sinks. Too expensive for the mass market, in my opinion.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>I won&#8217;t be backing this one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t normally criticise cases on my blog, but this one caught my eye.
