This is a really great use of the ProtoCam (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/955730101\/protocam-the-raspberry-pi-camera-module-prototypin\" target=\"_blank\">which is now fully funded on Kickstarter<\/a>) which makes using one of these small displays feasible (the pins are too close together to use on a standard breadboard). <a href=\"http:\/\/www.averagemanvsraspberrypi.com\/2014\/10\/using-8x2-display-with-raspberry-pi.html\" target=\"_blank\">Read the tutorial here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m a proud supporter of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/955730101\/protocam-the-raspberry-pi-camera-module-prototypin\" target=\"_blank\">ProtoCam <\/a>&#8211; I think it&#8217;s a great product for the price (\u00a39) and I really appreciate the amount of work Richard has put in to writing material around the product &#8211; it puts a lot of other KS campaigns to shame!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Richard (Average Man) has written a really nice tutorial about using a small 8&#215;2 LCD display with the Pi,\u00a0using his ProtoCam prototyping board.
