He has used a Raspberry Pi to tap into the data source of the system to provide him with a 5-second warning should a large earthquake occur. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.berkeleyside.com\/2014\/09\/09\/uc-berkeley-prof-joshua-bloom-makes-earthquake-alert-kit-for-110\/\" target=\"_blank\">You can read more here<\/a>.
