Happy PiDay! #piday @Raspberry_Pi

Happy Pi Day (March 14th = 3/14, I know it’s American) to everyone who owns, or is interested in, the Raspberry Pi!

I’ll be blogging today about my astronomy project which will eventually use the Raspberry Pi camera module to take pictures of the night sky. So far, it’s just using a USB webcam, so I’ll use that and try to come up with some kind of interface today!

HotPi – new board opens up infra-red / #RaspberryPi / #piday

Only available from The Pi Hut, this is the blurb for the HotPi:

HotPi is a peripheral designed for your Raspberry Pi which will allow you to use any infra-red remote control, send remote control signals to other devices e.g. your television, drive a speed controlled fan, keep the time accurate while the power is turned off, and display the current system status with a multi-colour LED.

It’s currently selling for £11.99.
