The author also gives a really reckless way of reducing your SD card footprint by… snipping at it with a pair of scissors. I cannot dissuade you more from this procedure – not all SD cards are made the same way and you can end up damaging your card very easily. I recommend getting a micro-SD adapter to solve the problem.
